My Perfect SAK
on:
July 02, 2017, 07:51:33 PM
My perfect SAK (well,
one
of them):
●130mm
●Nylon scales emergency orange
●Heavy locking marlin spike
●Saw as on 130mm models
●Straight OH blade partly serrated.
●Awl on back
●Lanyard ring built into chassis
No openers or drivers or corkscrews or little split rings. All those are great and much-used in other models. I'm looking for my type of bushcraft slash hobby tool.
We can all dream...

Its not for me, but that does sound great for the woods, assorted knots and wood bashing.
Mine might be a bladeless woodsman, which I've got. So let me try to think of something else.
Hooked, like everyone else.
All hail the hook!

The 232Ka sounds pretty close to that, although instead of a nail file, it has a bottle opener-screwdriver. It predates the combo tool and lacks the lanyard ring.

My perfect SAK must have the next layers:
- main blade / combo tool;
- vic scissors;
- vic pliers;
- wood saw;
- CT layer.
On the back:
- corkscrew/mini screwdriver;
- reamer;
- hook.
And main. Backside like the Wenger. Plain.
Peace. Work. May.

My perfect EDC Sak would simply be a reissue Salesman or Climber Small, if they where made again....
Unfortunately i highly doubt that Vic will ever consider making them again, or anything 84mm with scissor's...

The Victorinox Yeoman (Swissbianco flavor shown) is as close as it gets to the perfect SAK for me: inline phillips, scissors, magnifier, blade, pen, flat driver, etc., all in an easy to carry 3 layers.
