Back layer tools bump

Hello,
does anyone noticed that back layer tools like reamer, chisel, fine screwdriver has little bump on the side which goes to the spring? What is it for?

It's called a kick. That's the bit that slams into the backspring so the implement itself doesn't get damaged  :salute:
