Spartan (2004)
Written and directed by David Mamet, who also wrote The Edge.

Another great movie.

Eating apple.

Examining scene.

Gearing up.

Planning.

Splitting card in two for cigarette.

Cleaning knife.

Last sighting.

And this smaller folder too.

Nice knife, but $650 can buy a pretty nice junker truck.

I completely agree.

I love that movie and the specs on the website make it look like a pretty good knife but for that price, I could buy a couple great Benchmade knives!   :ahhh

Absolutely love this blade; it was on my to-buy-list for many many years and I actually reached out to him a few years ago and his daughter answered but I was a bit shocked at the pricing and what's more, I couldn't for the life of me understand the choice of 02 tool steel for the blade -- it just didn't make sense. But it's still a beautiful knife and if I ever convince the wife, I may buy it yet :P Also a pretty decent movie.

You know, Mr. G, I was wondering, since you've seen the movie and seem to know your stuff pretty well, do you know what this thing is that Val Kilmer's character has on a chain? I think it's some sort of farming implement and I've been looking for the name of this thing for a while. I asked in another thread, but this is a far better photo of exactly what it is I'm talking about. It's like a hook within a finger-ring I think, and is stamped with a farming store (Mike's Feed and Seed) logo, so I think it's something farmers use. Unfortunately his hand is obfuscating the tool somewhat badly but it's still possible to see.

If I ever knew what it was, I don't know now.  It looks familiar.  I'm assuming it is a piece of horse tack.  Best wishes.  G
