FS: Lock picking stuff - SOLD
on: October 21, 2008, 07:31:19 PM
These are novelty items for fun and personal use only ..... potential felons need not apply. It is you, the buyer's responsibility to know your local laws regarding the legality of owning this stuff. Please note it is legal to send this stuff through the U.S mail.

Both sets for $50.00 This stuff is located in Washington State. Because of the nature of these items, I will only sell to U.S buyers. Prices include shipping, PayPal (I eat the fees).

The first set was made by a company called Majestic and are known as "Computer Generated" lock picks. What you see is what you get.

Here is a reference link http://www.lockpicks.com/hightechpickset.aspx

This second "set" I believe was made by Southord. Includes 5 tension tools and 4 picks(rake, hook, snake, diamond). What you see is what you get.

PM me if interested. :D

Thanks for looking,
Mike

I've always wanted to learn about how to pick locks, purely out of interest, not for any nefarious means :)

As far as i'm aware they are legal to own, but if you're caught out on the street with them i wouldn't rate your chances :o :D Not sure about import/export though :-\ But anyway back on topic :P :D

I'll jump in on this, my best guess is owning, carrying, possession on you person is not illegal in the USA.  Illegal is a sick bird !!!

The intended use of / or using the instruments is what is what the law usually states.

I have been a locksmith on my days off , and a cop for 30+ years ( most weeks I made more money on my 2 days off than I did working the other 5 as a cop !!!). Based on that, unless the person who has picks on his person at 3 am and is bending over the door lock on a store he gets a ride in the back of a police car.  If the RA files charges is another question.

Stopping a person on the street I would guess at least 80% of uniformed police officers don't know a pick set from a tool set.

Use / intent is the  deciding factor when I look at the law.  This crap you see on TV where they arrest a guy with a screwdriver in his pocket and he is charged with possession of burglary tools won't go far with a DA.  ANY tool , say a MT,  can fall into that category and to get a DA to file on just that is a real stretch .

TV is not real, unless you want it to be real, even the news is screwed up.

Because they don't make a 46 !

Agreed, though you'd be assuming the cop isn't cranky, or crooked! Most laws in all states carry some kind of intent clause or whatnot, but I'd had perfectly legal knives confiscated off of my body from time to time.

So personally for me, if I love it, I won't normally carry it. :D

Offa my stuff coppers! >:(
