As I have already one piece of 58, 74, 84 and 93mm in red and silver alox (classic/companion, moneyclip, excelsior/popular, pioneer/soldier/SI)
I'm looking for other old colored ones now

But to be honest, the one in my pocket these days is a mountaineer with Plus scales

I have a few colored Alox.  I always enjoy all the nice colors I see here on the forum.  I dont have a preference as to what I will carry.  Mostly I prefer red celidor for my daily carry.  I do have a red cadet 2 that does see some pocket time.

Because I tend to get a little obsessive I recognize that I could quickly get the "gotta catch them all" color bug, so I consciously restrict myself (mostly) to silver, red, and orange.

Strangely, my one and only black Pioneer gets more pocket time than the rest combined.

Alox = silver. Cellidor and Nylon = (classic) red.
All other colors are just fantasy SAKs :-)

 :like: :like:

Just added the part in bold so there is no doubts...   :D

P.S.: I like (to look at) some alox colors other than silver when they are new, but i absolutely hate the way colored alox ages, contrary to many here. I don't find a faded (rubbed off) and scratched colored pocket knife with bits of silver shining underneath sexy or good looking... Sorry...   :pommel:

Like other members have pointed out, red is kind of the classic color for alox as well...    I may have already said, I find a regular new silver Pioneer boring so I prefer an OC, different color, or Soldier.
I think some alox colors age better than others...  I think the black will look cool once it has aged a bit, same for the red OC Pioneer I edc...

As I suspected, I think most people reserve their colored alox for the collection.  I do this too with many knives but at the same time, I think it's kind of a drag and I should carry them awl.  The black Pioneer isn't too hard to get and I feel liberated carrying it.  I decided to sell my vanilla silver Pioneers.  If I'm going silver, it'll be a Soldier or Cadet.    I'd planned to carry my green Farmer but couldn't bring myself to do it.    A big part of me wants to unbox and carry everything that isn't  more than 30 or so years old.  blah blah blah

here's some more blah about alox indecision via youtube:

I didn't know you had a youtube channel Corky! That is awesome. I love listening to people ramble about SAKs... I mean why else would I be hanging out here on MT.o?

Edit: Btw, congrats on your 200th youtube sub.... me!

Voted Red as it's kickass.

Have only recently been lucky enough to have been given a red OC Pioneer and a Black Pioneer and I love them both.

I like different colors for the collection.

For carry I'd go with silver.

The same here.

CS & RoSchrö !!! Great Pics!  Are you guys suggesting that the colors are pretty much fancy paperweights?

Blue (2015)
Orangeish (Nesspreso livanto)
Green (2017)

And really eyeballing a black with red logo one.

I say black, it's bound to get a nice used feel over time.

Wait...that Swisstool... That's an RT? I thought they were black handled with the lasering on the blade? *Mind blown*

As for alox coloring, black always looks best to me. However the original Sturdy Boy was red, I think, and that was before the Soldier hit, AFAIK.

Definitely black alox for me, with pocket wear.  I quite like the silver but it's a bit plain, and I don't like red either in alox or celidor.  Some of the other colours are OK, particularly this year's OD green.

I could see teal going bad.  I had a worn autumn orange cadet that still looked cool, as well as dark green.  Most pics I've seen of well-worn black look pretty cool.    Of course I carry silver too but frankly I get tired of seeing knives on the shelf... especially newer ones that never got to have any fun.
