Hardware packrat...
on: October 23, 2008, 06:42:54 PM
Was talking to Def today and we both commented about how we have a pack rat problem when it comes to hardware... I dug out one of the boxes of old simms/dimms that I have and decided to take a "collection" type photo for the geeks to drool over... I know somewhere I have more because there's no laptop ram in this box, and I have several "spares" somewhere... I'm sure some of the towers laying around the house also have more dimms in them too. Enjoy! :crash:

You got me beat, but probably not by much... mind you I probably have enough video cards to take a similar photo!

I have several boxes of stuff I didn't check... in that photo is 32pin simms, 72pin simms, some cache chips(for 486 mainboards?) and a load of regular dimms, pc66/100/133 there's a few bad ones in that pic too, including a 512mb PC266 which does still work, but throws up errors if you run memtest on some mainboards... which I could remember which one it was stable on...

I have a pile of video, sound, lan/network, modems, too...I have at least 9 spare cdroms, some are CDR drives, and a DVD drive or two... I have extra IDE harddrives all over the place...ranging in size from a few hundred MB to 80GB (those are just the ones that aren't in use...) CPUs, Mainboards, monitors, keyboards, mice, cases... the works... I really need to throw out some of the non essentials... but then I'll need it...  :ahhh

Oh, I have MANY boxes full in my closet....

What the hell do you do with it if you don't pack it away?  Actually, my county is having its first electronics recycling day this Saturday, so I hope to rid myself of lots of stuff.

If anyone has any old American, Canadian, or European made electronic parts that they want to get rid of I'll take it I collect it. It can be new used old or even broken. PM me if you need to get rid of it.
