Opinel no.9 mod

Very non original idea from the internet. Super stoke when I saw modded Opinels on the web. Ordered one and made one of mine own....... Finally owned one. Super duper happy with it.  :D :D

1. Re-profiled blade.
2. Acid washed blade.
3. Reshaped handle and coffee stained.. and a little bit of open flame BBQ.
4. Pivot tolerance adjusted and re-peened.
5. Added Spydie wire clip!

Wow! Length wise, you turned that 9 into a 4!

It's a stocky looking blade, now. I bet it can take on heavier tasks without any problem. Get a thumb stud and it'll be perfect!

Actually for Opinel, if you search for in the internet, There are tons of mods. Mainly due to very workable wood handles and relatively inexpensive. Mine's a "copy" as well.... I like the one that I saw so much that I have make a similar one...... :angel:

So.... I did put in a thumbstud... At first I didnt want to as I felt that it kinda of mess up the traditional look.. But I eventually did as I still prefer to have a knife that's oho.. It's just not getting used much as I needed 2 hands to open. Not as clean as the original attempt, but hell lot easier to open and seeing more use now.  :cheers: But, there's one thing I notice about opinel... the wood handle is very sensitive to moisture, making the tightness of the pivot extremely temperamental.  :think:
