Scored a free Axe
on: September 01, 2017, 06:48:33 PM
Scored some free tools today at a job. People were getting ready to move offed some tools to me. One of which was this Plumb axe with a 24" handle.

Got her nice and sharp and put it to use clearing some Buckthorn.   :tu: :tu:

A friend of mine has a small Plumb hatchet  with the same sticker he's had for years, used every time he went hunting and camping, and it still looks like its new.  So that one should last you more than a lifetime.  And, not a speck of rust. Every axe I've been given has been kept outdoors and was a rusty, and usually pitted mess.  And not to mention rotted, or often broken handles that took hours to remove what's left (I had a Kelly double bit that what left of the head was held on by both tar and fencing steeples).

Thanks guys

It did have some minor surface rust but it was kept in the garage and not used very much.

That explains it! I've had issues with other people using Gargoyle too. I think Gareth tried posting a pic of something a while back, and even when I clicked quote to get the source addy for the pic, it still got blocked (but others commented on the pic). My BlackBerry is very good at blocking spyware, and malware. Sometimes too good  ;) My laptop can be quite protective too with the settings I use, and can sometimes have a bit of a stand off with sites that ask for too much data.
