Day 12 of 15 I believe!
Little discussed fact. The Surge blades are quite nice. The grind is very a-peeling.

Yeah. I chipped the edge a while back and sharpened it to try and hide it so I wouldn't go nuts. You can see the dip 3/5ths up the blade. Still works great though  :)

I aso chipped the edge, but the chip is not making it harder to use or cut with, so there it stays until it goes with furhter sharpenings

Good blades usually still perform with light damage. :)
I am just OCD as hell, so I felt it necessary to try and remove the chip from mine. But, now I wish I hadn't. Blade looks funny.
Like yours though, it still works fine.

Not to derail the thread,  but I have been curious about the big screw in one knife and what looks like a zip tied bolt on the other.
I am sure they are there for a good reason, but I have ni earthly idea. :ahhh

I had thought something to that effect for the big screw in the rescue blade. But, the zip tied nut I couldn't figure out. I guess it would be a way to pull the blade open. Maybe. :)

Next to last day. Put on the big 2AA LED Maglite and the rarely seen or carried USA Schrade Viper knife (my best looking modern pocket knife).
All American carry today. Even put my measure tape aside and carried the Lufkin Aluminum folding rule. :)

Thank ya, sir! Lets just say,  they are soo hard to find, when I found a backup, I still carry the original in a belt sheath! I think they were made during Schrade USA's death throws before Taylor junkified the brand. The quality is superb. Worthy of accompanying the mighty surge today. :)

The Surge has great blades, but for light cutting and food prep, a light weight blade is easier to deal with. :)

Some use just a zip tie, with your thumb pressing on the 'buckle' part of it.

opens the blade as it is drawn from the pocket, something useful if you wear gloves, and or need to be looking at something, holding something or paying attention to other things while you take the knife out to guarantee that it ends opened and locked

Now it seems like something I need to look into. I tried a knife with a "wave" hook, but never got the hang of it. No pun intended. :D

That Surge on diamond plate.

Today is the final day of my 15 day challenge I believe. I don't know if I am allowed a badge, since it was not my thread, but hopefully the mods will be generous and grant the badge. :)

Paired the Surge with an old school 2aaa maglite and French made Marjacq pocket knife today.

My pleasure, sir! I am going to keep the Surge on my belt a few more days and keep up with the challenge. It took two weeks, but I can see why people switch from a wave to a surge sometimes. The extra power and blade exchanger come in handy. The size makes driving screws easy as cake.
I am soo confused about MTs. I have no idea what I like anymore. So many options. :ahhh
