Have pity on me today
on: December 14, 2019, 06:16:19 PM
Got to work today and noticed I had forgotten to put ANY MT in my pocket before leaving the house!

I normally carry either a LM Squirt PS4 or one of several 91mm SAKs on a micro pocket hanger. So today . . .

I FEEL NAKED!   :o

I just ordered a pair of Gerber dimes to try so maybe I will leave one at work in my cubicle to stave off future uneasiness. Unfortunately they are still in transit so for the rest of today I will feel - TWITCHY -  :ahhh

I guess I could skip lunch, run out and buy some cheap & Cheerful MT, DANG IT, I am an over comer and I WILL SURVIVE!

SOME job locations are clothing optional, but not usually libraries.

Well, that would likely solve the "When do I retire" question!  :D

You're still alive, right??

If you go to work by car, put a spare tool in the glovebox for days like these.
I do so too!

Been there, done that, lucky I wasn't in any life or death situation.  To me, running around the house with nothing is one thing, but being a good distance away from anything is BAD!

Did that in the woods once. Thought I'd taken my ST300 out of the belt sheath and placed it into the MOLLE sheath on my pack. Turns out, I didn't have it; and was stuck in the woods with just a pair of Klein linesman's pliers with the fencing tools kept in there and a Skedco EMT knife that was kept in a 9mm mag pouch on the strap.  About as soon as  I got back to the house, I ended up putting an LM Wave and a couple folders in the pack.  Good thing was that me and a buddy brought actual tools when we were working on the spring, and he had an LM Wingman on his person.

I feel, sometimes, that if I can't carry my knife, it's like going without my pants. For sensitive environments (no blades) I have a Style PS, Sebertool M3, and a SwissTech; as well as several choices of one-piece tool. In my wallet ALWAYS is a SwissCard with the knife blade (mainly because I find the blade unsafe).

Ah, the well known multitool deprevation syndrome: Unease, twitching, and an aggresively developing paranoia about loose screws and things to pry. Comfort shopping can help remedy the worst symptoms. You did well!  :D

That's one of the reasons why I carry an Alox Bantam in my wallet:  for backup, just in case something happens to my primary tool.

Well, thanks for the advise/support gang! I did make it through the day and when I got home I "held" one of the SAKs laying on the counter.

Today the twin Dimes arrived (had them shipped to the office) so I had THREE MTs since I had the Squirt in my pocket. AHHHHH, the joy of multiple multi tools!  :climber:

I moved the pocket hanger from the Squirt to one of the Dimes and I think I have a new friend.

I can relate to this thread very well. As a kid I can remember a rhyme my olds used to joke about ‘ spectacles, testicles , wallet and watch” before going out.  Mine is modified to LM, wallet, phone and key car . Still forget the phone some days though

Not exactly a rhyme, but mine goes "wallet, knife, pen, keys, watch, phone".
