Leatherman Sideclip
on: October 30, 2008, 01:27:02 AM
Well I have finally done it. Since I recieved my tools to disassemble the sideclip I have modified it today. I have added the scissors from a PST II and I am working on adding the file. Once it is complete I will snap some pics. I unfortunately could not swap the partially serrated blade but give me time I will figure it out. :D

Got the file installed with a little modification to it. I do have an issue with the scissors working. They only want to work maybe three times and then I have to "reset them"

Well here it is. The file I had to shorten but I think  I can reconfigure it. The serrated blade I did get to fit finally.

Looking good RM! 8)

Was it necessary to go that short on the file in order to clear the plier jaws when folded?

Yeah the pliers would not close all the way with the original length.......I unfortunately have to change it back to original though. It seems to bind up to much and isnt quite the smooth operator that I once knew.  :(

Uh-oh. So what was the problem then?

The file and knife blade rubbed the jaws too much and bound it. I didnt like it at all. I remember when I could "flick" it open without an problem so I will find a PST II to modify with a side clip.
