Just finished up my first sheath project! I put new scales on a Camillus Blackriver, and wanted a new sheath to replace the crappy one that came with it. I’m really happy the way it came out. A few things I will do differently in the future, but it worked out :D

Very nice idea, I like the sweep you've given it.

Made my 11 yr old daughter her first fixed blade and sheath. Tried doing a bit of stamping and free handed the Cursive E... her first name initial. Came out darker than I was shooting for. I need more practice with staining... My fingers have a good tint to them now  :D

Here’s the knife. The blade is made out of a small file and the scales are from some red oak that didn’t work out with my previous knife project. The linseed oil helped the color come out a bit.

I’m glad I took a pic of the sheath, with the lighting I noticed a spot on the back that needed a touch up.

I am in the making of a one piece composite fabric Sheath for my MP600... I'll try to remember to post it there I get it done

for now it is a two layer thermopasted fabric piece with one 45° from the other (to get max strength having both weaving at different direction)

next step is to cut the this composite fabric to size and sew bias fabric along the edges.

Wow! When I first saw the sheath, I tought the knife was way bigger than that!

 :o :o

Pretty kewl project. The end result is great! I bet she loves it! Well done!

My lack of skills continue but my enthusiasm is growing.  Here are 2 sheaths I decided to connect.  My though was to be able to carry a light, SAK, and Trad in one tidy package.  I may do a little touch up just to clean up the edges but its great in pocket so far.  So far my leather work has been function over looks but I think in time I'll get better.

Thanks.  It works wonderfully and after a 1/2 day of carry it carries quite nicely as well.  I'll give it a full work out today.

Really cool idea to keep everything from rolling around in the pocket! 1 tip, I did find that worked for me, was to use a fork to mark out the stitch holes. Gets a little tricky around the corners but really helps. I love the sinew color paired with the dark soft leather. Nice job!
Also try out the saddle stitch, it looks a lot more complicated than it is to do, but is pretty much a running stitch like you did, but doesn’t have a visible beginning or end.

:salute: Thanks.  I'll need to pick up some more leather so I can continue to try to make things.  I do want to try the saddle stitch.  I saw a great video. I'll need to locate it again.
