I popped this up for Wenger Wednesday but, if you'll allow, I'll take a shot at a Birthday Year merit badge with a dedicated thread.

November is my birth month and here is an SI made the same year I was:



Fun to have a 50 year-old SAK in such good shape. Better shape than I'm in, I'm afraid.



She's got the lines and wrinkles to show she was somebody's user. The main blade is scratched a bit. There's even a little pitting. The awl has a couple small dings. The driver tip got roughed up somewhere in her past. Her Alox scales cannot be described as 'mint' any longer. But she still snaps like a spring chicken. And her main blade is hair-popping sharp.



When I adopted this one, I did try to tidy her up a bit. But she still shows enough marks of time that she tells a story of a life well lived and yet with more miles to go.

I'd love to see some photos of other people's '66 SAK's. Post 'em if you got 'em! If you guys want more photos of this one, let me know.  :cheers:
