Gutted
on: October 12, 2019, 06:14:53 PM
My PS4 that has lived on my keys for 8 years or more has failed. If anything was going to fail I was sure it would be the little loop that I used to attach it to my keys as I am always dropping my keys.

But no, I went to use the scissors today to see the spring had snapped off rendering them floppy and useless :(

It is now packaged up along with a leatherman warranty form ready to be returned to its maker.

It’s a sad day in the chip household.

Thanks, Being on my keys it was always unconsciously about my person. and would always come to my aid if I foolishly found myself not in possession of one of its larger cousins in a time of need.
It definitely proved its worth many times.

I would like to see it repaired as it has a nice patina.
But I know Whitby replace not repair, so there will be a shiny new one coming my way hopefully.

For years and years I have never used leathermans excellent warranty service (never needed to). Now this will be twice this year, as they replaced my well used wave earlier this year. I feel almost guilty as arguably I have got my money’s worth from both Tools.

It is that, and if you keep the blade razor sharp even a blade this small can get you out of trouble at a pinch.

I'm kinda wondering why this is such a common problem, and why it happens at such random intervals.  Could it be temperature related? I have a PS4 Leatherman gave me in return for one the pliers broke on, and with little use (maybe the fourth? time I had carried it) the scissors spring snapped off.  I know it was fairly cold in my room that morning--about 55-60 .
