Mines just got it's first small dink on the scales. I let the engineer in the office opposite mine use the scissors and when she closed them she dropped it. Once bounce and it hit the metal foot of my desk and has it's first small dink on it. It's only tiny but still annoyed me.

yeah....   It's a drag.  Doesn't seem to look as bad on black... 

Or it's kind of an either way thing... like it kinda sucks when you have essentially new-looking alox with an unsightly scratch or two but it starts to have more character as the scratches and dings start to take over.

I've only carried the MTO PX once then it was straight into the 30SAK/DAY challenge...

Agreed. One scratch is unsightly, but 20-200 dings is character. I like the way the red Alox ages and wears. I'm in the Spirit challenge, so mine is in a drawer for now.

Side story: I was out on a military field exercise when I was young, innocent, and nice. I had an old Camilus Pilot's survival knife with me. These get issued in a sorry state, but after a few hours work, mine looked great and was razor sharp. I had thought these things were junk, but with a little love, they are really nice knives. Anyway, my battle buddy asks to borrow my knife (he didn't bring one along). Of course I lend it to him. He proceeds to use it to dig up a root that is annoying him in his sleeping position. Like this knife is a pick-axe or something. My beautiful edge is reduced to a saw with rounded off teeth.

After that, I'm no longer young, innocent, or nice. I never lend a knife to anyone. NEVER. If someone needs something cut, I do it for them or tell them to bring a knife next time.
