Used for pulling hard-boiled emu (or ostrich or cassowary) eggs from boiling water without burning yourself ?

Does not look strong enough to pull veggies from the soil, so maybe fruit from trees:  apples?

OK, my turn.   :)

It's kind of a tool --- well, measuring device. I've removed the branding.  It is marked out in cm on one side and inches on the other.  It is flexible and a bit wobbly.

"It's a ruler" isn't enough --- you need to tell me what it measures.   :drink:

Here it is after being used, reading about 160mm.

Ooops, I just realised if I got it right I would have to come up with a photo of something weird so I just removed my speculative guess.

Right idea.  It's a dip stick.  But can you guess what liquid it was dipped into?   :)

I needed to wear gloves to do this.

Yes!  It is a dipstick for measuring liquid nitrogen levels in a cryo-tank.

Our tanks are kept cold by the LN2 sitting at the bottom of the tank.  We store samples in the cold vapour above the liquid.

Dip the stick into the tank and pull it out.  Wave the stick in the air and moisture freezes to the part that was in contact with liquid.

The tanks are easily large enough for a person or two to get into but we only store blood samples in small tubes in the tank.

that sounds cool and i imagine a bit of a risky job if you are not careful, which material is the stick made of?

Not sure about exact material, but we use a lot of stainless steel racks in the tanks, along with plastic boxes and containers which all survive the cold.  The dipstick is just a soft-ish/floppy-ish plastic.
