Atwoods
on: November 05, 2008, 09:33:57 PM
There seems to have been a bit of talk about these recently so I thought I'd start a thread on them.

Post in here pics of what you have, what you carry, what you are lusting over or anything else Atwood related.  :)

Here are my 2 Atwoods, both of which I EDC and both given to me by our good friend Gadget Guy;

The Prybar one is called a Flat GasBaby and the other is a FunnyBone.  Together I think they make a great combo.  :)

Above shows the difference in thickness between the 2 tools.

Oops!  How did that Sebbie get in there?  :D

So what do you guys have?

I'm back!!

you and your sebbie! :D
im goin to take pic of my atwood with tracker i guess just to be annoyin creep too :D :D :drink:
well heres mine, sorry for old :D pic.and thanks for John again and again.

its just awesome in my eyes, and if i get a chance,i think the one i would want now, would be that bicycle model,as i run on fixed gear at summers, and that  bike atwood has about.....not about...ALL the necessities a fixed gear bike needs,an 15mm nut opener to adjust chain tension, spoke tightening wrench, bottle opener that happens to be just the right size for my seatpost adjust nut and places for two 1/4" bits,my choice would be 4 and 6mm,for bar/stem adjustin and that 6mm for seat rail adjusting.

I can't bring myself to buy one.  Of course the whole problem would be solved easily if someone were to give me one!  :P

I would be sure to post in here if that were to happen.

It's about time!  :D

I am really keen on the FunnyBone.  :)  It's a great tool to pair up with a plier based MT IMO.

I'm actually in the process of building my own right now.  I have a full machine shop at my disposal so I'm going to crank out some protypes soon.  What kind of features would you guys like to see in something like this.  I'm planning on putting a wire guage gage along the top where the "grip" ridges usually go, and maybe putting in a couple more neat features

All you guys have to do is draw up a basic sketch of what you want.  I'll then draw it up in Solidworks (a 3-d cad software) and then use the shop to build it.  Let me know what metal you want it made of too.  I'll see what I can do!!!

How about this...the kiri pry is slightly angled toward the blade (ie it is not straight stock)

At the pry end, either side of the "v" notch the metal is of different widths so we have 2 sizes of flat head screwdriver within the pry.

What do you reckon??

Not a bad idea flash...I was thinking of some way to incorporate a philips as well.  Everyone, get going on some basic hand/paint/photoshop/whatever sketches so I can start throwing around some manufacturing ideas.

It's much much more pheasible to do a small run of one design, but I COULD do individual designs if people were really excited.  They would be pretty cheap too, I just have to pay for the steel stock and some machinging costs for the shop.  Labor is free cause I'll be the one working  ;). I'm gonna start a new thread actually and have people start posting designs, then we'll vote.
