Fixed my only issues with the skeletool
on: November 27, 2017, 10:39:56 PM
Yesterday I purchased a Leatherman skeletool, I absolutely loved it except I found the the knife blade was hard to open, it was stiff, the frame lock caused friction and made a horrific noise, I would scrape my thumb against the serrations as I pushed it open, and the hole was slightly too small for my thumb. I applied pretty liberal amounts of WD-40 and that helped quite a bit but I realized if I just added a zip tie around the thumb hole it would turn into a thumb stud! She still has some wearing in to do but it's smooth as hell now.

The ole zip tie.  Glad you found a solution.  I've seen a member use thin cordage on his Wave.  We also have ThePeace who like using zip ties on his blades.  Simple and effective and more importantly the tool as a result will be with you.   :salute:

not on the Skele but I did put a zip-tie in my OUTU multitool blade to make it OHO.
