I just called them. they have pulled the plug. I begged for a cutting head I could adapt to my tool. he said there were some in different stages of manufaturing and maybe in two months I could call back and they would release the head. they have heads but obviously not for retail. maybe later they will sell the heads but probably not is what I heard.

Wasn't the cutting head the thing that was causing all the problems & torpedoed the project/model :think: :think:

Probably because they use a softer stainless steel that doesn't agree with harder wire. I really don't know. It might also be the cutting knives are meeting up and damaging each other, instead of meeting at a slight offset like a quality pair,(Hard to explain but noticeable if you have a Klein pair of cutters. Channellock uses an anvil type cutter), but I think SOG would realize that.

Should just use tool steel.

Should just use tool steel.

Yup...or better yet..use tool steel and outsource production of the heads to a company like Klein who knows how to do it right.
