But she's got it where it counts.  I have made a few Skittles based modifications myself....



You guys can keep your Lego, a REAL MAN works with Gingerbread!  And to make it more authentic, I even built it while being scruffy looking! 



This was a no bake kit, just assemble and decorate the existing cookies.  That should be easy, I'll have no problem doing it in less than 12 parsecs.  Hell, it should be easier than bullseying womp rats in my T-16 back home.



Plus I had some Skittles left over from a previous project that I thought I would incorporate.  After all, we know that the Correllian Drive Yards made sure to leave lots of opportunities to spruce up these YT-1300's.



Just a few quick "welds" to build the frame so I count really get started.  Might as well get a bit artistic too, right?



Not bad, but I can do better!  Bust out the Skittles and...



Nope.  I apparently cannot do better...  :facepalm:



Yup.  Complete fail. 



Well I'll do better in the hyperdrive.  I quickly weld the hull of the stock light freighter to the frame so I can get to work were it really counts.  First up, welding the hull plating.



I start off by roughing it all in, and using Skittles to form the iconic cockpit, although I quickly realize that I'm not happy with it that way.  But I have a lot of hull plating to do so I have time to think about it.



Roughing in more and more, I start to add the structure for the top mounted quad lasers.



Once the structural components are in place I start adding in essential equipment and major components, like the engine exhaust and atmospheric heat vents.  I also included the warning lights or the starboard and port escape pods.  You will also notice that I replaced the larger Skittles with smaller candies to better represent the multi-faceted cockpit, including the forward circular window.



Next up it was time to start reinforcing the structure and installing exterior components, such as the ROUND radar dish ( :pok:), forward lighting and dorsal mounted quad lasers system.







Upon completion on the vessel itself I decided to go back and take another stab at beautifying the frame by exercising my Freestyle muscles and doing crossed lightsabers.



Red and blue of course, to signify both the Light and Dark sides of the Force.  :jedi:



Look out Kessel, this ship is going to run right over you!

I thought about it- needle nose pliers would have helped on a lot of the more intricate parts of the build.
