Where are they coming from?
on: December 26, 2017, 08:53:52 PM
In the last few days I have seen 2 different SAKs with green translucent scales, both on Ebay, both used, one a Swisschamp. The other a Champion plus. I have been all over the interwebs looking to find those scales. Does anybody know where they are coming from?

Just a small personal observation.  ...........I would not be at all surprised that when God created the Earth & the heavens, that the SwissChamp was the tool he used. .............. :hatsoff:

I have tried the bay as well as every Vic dealer I can find. Nobody is listing them. But at least you gave me another way to ask google. TU  :salute:

Hey Butch,

Along with 'Emerald' green scales, there are 'Ruby' (Red), and 'Sapphire' (Blue). There are also clear transparent scales with a silver backing, called 'Silver Tech'.

I've seen pics of transparent yellow, orange, brown, gray, purple, and pink as well, but I'm not sure they have gemstone based names or not.

I bought a set from an eBay seller a few years ago. He didn't have them listed for sale but had a number of knives for sale with emerald scales. I sent him a message asking if he had a set of scales he would sell.

I've seen pics of transparent yellow, orange, brown, gray, purple, and pink as well, but I'm not sure they have gemstone based names or not.

Translucent yellow is called Citrine and black is called Onyx... I've seen a list of the names somewhere on the 'net

And I would smurfing kill for a pair of 91mm Citrine scales  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

This set is available in orange too

I was talking to my friend last night, and he was saying if there was anything he'd change about the SAK I gave him, he'd prefer it in Orange. I said 'they mostly don't MAKE them in orange. Sorry."

And then the few remaining synapses in my brain fired, and from deep in the fog of random stuff I read every day, I remembered this.
