Used the marlin spike on my Vic Skipper to open a package.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

Water is plain terrible here on this district of Kyiv and I have to regularly clear an aerator on the water taps because it gets clogged. This time I used a Spirit awl instead of a SIM eject tool from my iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit just out of curiosity - even the very tip of an awl is a little thicker, so we’ll see if that helps and this time clean holes would last longer.

Dream. Wish. Leave nothing undone. Repeat.

Turns out winter is indeed not over even though spring started a couple days ago here in Michigan.

Used my new razor knife to open a bag of salt.

Used the awl on my cheap and cheerful multitool to clear out the soap residue from underneath the pop up sink plug.

I was deconstructing a terrace today and used the Centerdrive to help get to screws that were sunk in the wood, ones that were broken and removing nails along other things.

Used the package opener on my Spirit to open up a package. Scissors on my Super Tinker were used to cut some band aids apart.

I hope the owner of the Terrace was okay with you doing this.

Haven’t been around much lately due to starting a new job about a year ago. My multitool has never been so used however, only today it was used for unlocking/locking doors to check the figment of locks before the cylinders were fitted, cutting some cable, pulling cable through holes in walls. Been carrying the rebar as I like its light weight and compactness I also have a couple of them so don’t mind abusing this fella. Great to read about the 18th anniversary!

I’ve been installing  several of these kitchen cabinet pull out shelves.  Note how this one is shifted all the way to the left?  It’s supposed to have about 1” from the cabinet wall. These things waste space, so I’ve now reinstalled all of them to maximize additional space for the whatever will fit.  Redid 4 of them today

Used my modded Wave to cut open the 1,000 zip ties holding the pieces together, pliers to gently bend a couple of the rack clips for better retention, Phillips and awl to help the drill on the screws (sometimes my Explorer in the more confined spaces), and Explorer small blade to open the boxes.

And to finish off the day built a new small bathroom vanity cabinet with the Explorer Phillips.

Great multi team effort! :2tu:

Indeed it was!  We put together a second o bathroom cabinet as a family team. Our kids both used our Explorer Phillips to help while my wife and I used swisschamp and Spirit.

My father in law saw the first vanity cabinet and wanted us to order one for his mother’s nursing home room.  Turns out we get 4-8am Amazon here so we ordered one last night before midnight and it showed up just a couple hours later (that is absolutely ridiculous). There is a massive distribution center nearby.

Was a day of tracing cables and identifying cables for access control. Used my leatherman micra a lot to snip the labels as my label printer if fubar, and does snip them anymore for some reason (really need to disassemble and repair but haven’t had the time) then went to a service call on the way home and forgot my small screwdriver to remove the tiny screw from a videx handset. Again, the leatherman micra tiny flat head managed to disassemble and assemble the hand set. Weird thing I only dropped the micra in my pocket by chance as I was in my edc drawer. Also used the tiny olight that’s clipped to the micra a lot whilst working above sealings. It was a great size to hold in my mouth.

I've been busy renovating the bathroom & sauna and also fixing up the in-laws' house for sale these couple of months. I rented a trailer to haul cement etc, and went to return it today. Noticed that the wiring inside the 7-pin plug was loose, the lights were breaking. Figured that they would charge me even though it must have been busted before I got the trailer. So I opened the plug and found that all the wires were disconnected. I googled the wiring schematics and fixed the plug with the cheap Stanley MT that I have in the trunk.

Later today, replaced some mosquito netting in a couple of windows with my Skele and staple gun.

Carrying the Leatherman Sidekick for the last few weeks and used it today to snip a couple of cable ties.

Used the crimp under the plier head to crimp some barrel crimps. I usually solder connections, but my van was a long walk away, and I managed to nick a few crimps off another tech. Low voltage so crimps were fine

I finally figured it out that if you pull the starter on a weedwhacker more than 50 times without it starting.... that it probably won't start.  That is when I reached for something that I never thought of as a multi-tool.  Of course it is.  The original Echo provided spark plug, gear box, screwdriver multi-tool.  That and a spare spark plug got the show back on the road.  I have used it a bunch through the years.  Best wishes.  G

I've had many of those plug wrench screwdrivers, what McCullogh once called as "scrench."  Many years ago, I was having trouble with the oiler on my Stihl, and in frustration after a few disassemblies threw the tool on the ground.  I saw exactly where it went, and it only went about ten feet, right to the base of a little apple tree.  I searched for a long time, in widening circles.  I never found it again. Sometimes you reap what you sow, but I've never succeeded in growing a new Stihl.  The old chainsaw ones usually had a flat bladed screwdriver, but I note the recent ones for brush cutters usually have a phillips or a torx head.

I usually carry a SAK, and a small needlenose Gerber in the shop, but yesterday working on some steps at the lake and knowing I might need to bend or extract some old nails, I took the trusty old blunt nosed Gerber 600.  Sure enough, just right for that kind of thing.  Those square nosed pliers aren't much good for cotter pins and stuff, but they are tough.
