I had an epiphany:  I don't carry my Leatherman PST often  because I prefer to carry and use my Knipex Cobra pliers.  It's kind of a shelf queen because I have the leather sheath in mint condition with the original box and papers.

If you were to pair the PST with a SAK Classic SD you would have 19 different tools with zero redundancy.

Needlenose pliers
Standard pliers
Wire cutters
2.5 inch blade
Awl
Flat bit #1
Flat bit #2
Wood/ metal file
Phillips driver
Micro flat bit#3
Can opener
Cap lifter
Ruler
Pen blade
Nail file
Flat bit #4
Scissors
Tweezers
Toothpick

I have not been on this site long and just found this combo thread. After bouncing around through it I’ve found a couple of “like minds” - I too find the PST/SD a great pair! I’ve posted this pic on another thread but I do like it

Thought I should also add my daily office EDC favorite pair.  These two only duplicate the main blade and cap lifter.

Another of my preferred pairing: Spirit and Waiter. Duplicates the main blade and cap lifter, but adds the corkscrew, eyeglass bit, tweezers, and toothpick.  I’d love the option for scales tools in a swisstool, but I don’t care for the swisstool corkscrew setup.

My latest combo for Marlboro Monday: a ‘93 Marlboro country store PST and a ‘93 Marlboro adventure team spartan. I’d love to get my hands on the Marlboro trail guide to pair with the PST.

Thanks! I’m happy with these. The SAK was listed NIB, but it does have a few marks on the scales, and the PST looks new with just a few scratches and was without box.

I posted this earlier today and have done it before. But it's still a good combo with very little overlap

[It's not failure if you learn something from it]

Is that a bit adapter that works with the SAK?

Yes it is, it's one of those cheap sets that comes with generic multitools.. But I changed out the bits for the ones I want and kept the adaptor

Hmm.. never come across one of those, but then again I’ve never paid attention to generic multitools.
Maybe I should..

I usually don't but I got one set with my bacho branded one (pliers are actually good) and keeps it in my car so I asked around with friends and family if anyone got the bit kit and didn't use it and my dad had a spare he got from somewhere
