If you are truly tempted mate, I would suggest you buy something old.  The cost:quality ratio is much higher on the old pieces.  The modern ones tend to be cheap, but very thin, more like machetes than real billhooks.  a real billhook will normally be quite thick and have some mass to it. :)

I really do like the older tools. I am intrigued by this and will pursue it :tu:

I'm truly fascinated by this hedge laying thing. I just wish I had the property to properly do this. My 130'x100' lot isn't exactly the size needed to really do something like this. I do want to hedge between my place and the neighbor in our front yard. Our back yards are divided by a 7 1/2' cedar privacy fence. I am on the corner lot so I could do hedges near the curb to keep pests..... I mean pets  out of the yard when people walk them and let them crap all over my lawn

That is is. :tu: I see I can get it locally for about $40 which is almost the double the US price but still quite affordable. And those scales look great too.

EDIT: That Skinner looks even better. :ahhh

I paid $22 for it plus shipping, Wich is very cheap for such a well made knife.

That skinner looks great. I can see one of those ending up in my mailbox if the price is right...

Edit: the price was right  :D

I've heard and read good things about it too but haven't actually handled one. Looking forward to hearing what you have to say about it once you've had time to play with it.

When I googled Boker Magnum, I found this.http://www.boker.de/us/fixed-blade-knife/magnum/tactical-knife/02RY149.html.  Can it be anything but a looker?

They call it both a Tactical Knife and an unusual dagger.  I'm leaning towards unusual.
