Got this Rough Rider Drop Point a little while ago and have to say that I'm happy enough.  Perhaps it's not surprising to hear given RR's reputation, but this is one well made and cheap knife.  If I'm being a bit fussy I'd say the handle is too slim even for my modest sized mitts.  Not uncomfortable in the short term, but I'd also not want to use it for hours at a time.

Sorry for the rubbish camera shots, they really don't do this lovely little knife justice.

Wood.  Described as "root wood" IIRC. :)

You and me both. :D  Though I do have to admit it's been a long time since I watched Excalibur.  Need to sort that out, it's a great film that I watched a lot when I was younger.

Hi

What kind of steel? 440C
Looks very much like a cheapie DOW (my 2nd) that I bought so I can replace the handles with Micarta as practice....
First one was decent, second one is yours' twin except the bolsters are brass.  I was pleasantly surprised by this blade, got a great edge on it quickly, and drilling the pin hols to 6mm caused the death of 4 drill bits and a few hours.......tough little one!

We're just rewatching 'Robin of Sherwood' from back in the 80's (Clannad, Hearne the Hunter etc) and I thought - got to rewatch Excalibur too. Great film, especially when the ragged Lancelot returns in a big way.

Michael Praed or Jason Connery? :D  I loved that when I was a kid and have enjoyed watching it again as an adult.  Not seen it in quite a few years now though.

It's a bit of a British classic, for those of us who grew up at the right time. ;)  I'm certain at least some of the episodes will be on youtube if you have a look.
