I really like the clear coating it is slick and looks good. I hope they do more models with it.   :tu:   To quote tradewater think of the the big logo as you knife wearing a t-shirt.   :D

Ha! True. I don't mind the looks of it, I was just concerned about rust forming. Is it coated then etched, or etched then coated?

Sn the texture is like the other Beckers handles of this size.

SG, since you've had a 2 before you know why you need a 32    :gimme:      :D

Some pics.

That's a looker!!!!  Wow, I'm tempted.......

That was my biggest concern with this knife. Oh man, I fear this doesn't bode well for my future wallet  :ahhh

Made up my mind to get the 2 and the 9, got the normal BK2, my OCD won't allow a mismatched pair so I'll have to get the normal BK9.
Want to get the grips lightly sandblasted, strip and polish the blades.........I want to but it's not easy considering the prices I'm paying.

Why on earth didn't they go with Micarta scales on these special editions?

One thing to keep in mind with mods. Are you going to sell it? Of you have plans to move it on in the future, maybe a mod won't be as valuable- but then, if you're planning on actually *using* using it, I'd say any wear and tear it'll gather would devalue it the same as any mods, which may or may not, depending on the quality of them.

I have no issues modding them, as it's a free way to personalize a knife, and help it suit your tastes/needs better. As beckers aren't exactly expensive (granted, they're not cheap, but as far as knives go...), I'd say go for it! They aren't rare, they're still being produced - make it yours!

I may not use my bk5 much, but every time I bring it out, man, I love that thing. It didn't strike me in any special way when it was black, sort of a tactical kitchen knife  But now that it's done up, it really puts a smile on my face, and that's what it's about.

To each his own, of course  :tu:

Take the price most people pay x15 or x20.......thems exchange rates are smurf

I definitely don't buy with the thought or selling or trading, what I have I keep.  There's no market or swapping culture locally, so I can only loose.
I feel making production knives your own with mods is the way to go, but it's not easy to mess with a "cheap" knife if it cost more than 10% of my salary!  :D
They are part of my collection, but I also feel the BK's can be used......only thing is a Mora Bushcraft seems to meet all my needs

Got the Cudeman 106-R for price of a 6-pack less than the 107-R so I now have a set....and this one is more my size:

A local gun shop bring them in directly so the prices are very good, and I like the knives.
I want to complete the 117/119 set, and when I bought the knife I was sent to another branch for the specific ammunition I was looking for - lo and behold a Cudeman 106-M for only slightly more.
Plan on getting that as a user (EDC  >:D  )

Nope, I paid N$2300(=South Africa R2300) for it.........

I approached it wrong - if I pay 15 times more an average joe like me earns 15 times less that side.......but I do get the impression its easier (ergo more affordable) for the average joe to buy these knives.

I assume it's mostly a case of you getting better prices, less transport costs and less middlemen needing a cut.

Thanks  :salute:

Just in case, IMHO the 107 if you want a knife, 106 for a toy, so I'm happy to have both.

Saw to my surprise there's lots of mods being done on these with stunning results.

Very nice!  :salute:

Made up my mind, BK9 will be my last purchase for this year, my ideal Becker Dream Team would be the BK2, BK3, BK4 and BK9, but I have to stop the craziness so BK2 and BK9 it will be

Oooookay      :D      BK2 and the BK9 are good choices. Maybe some where down the road you can work the others in. I'd really like to get a BK3 some day myself.

The BK3 I definitely want as a user, I would love to chuck it in my camping box, but it's expensive.....

Seems like I'll miss out on the BK4 since it's being discontinued, I know the closest disti doesn't have stock, so they're not likely to get any.
Likewise, due to the worsening exchange rate I need to buy the BK9 ASAP before they get new stock that will bump up the prices.

As a 24 owner, I want a 14 quite badly. Love the blade shape, and prefer the handle to the 11.

Becker thread  :ahhh :ahhh :D

Anyone know what size the holes on the sheath that comes with the Becker 14 are?

Have a plan forming for how to carry the knife if/when I get one.

I've got the 24, fairly sure it's the same sheath. Measuring capacities are limited, but what I've come up with is about 7/32"/6mm for the large holes, and 5/32"/4mm for the small. Measured with the wingman ruler, I apologize. Paracord goes handily through the large holes, getting it through the small is beyond my expertise.

Figured approximate data>no data

The reason I suggested it was that in the last few months, this has largely become a Becker discussion thread. Figured a separate thread might enable people to talk even more about them, and then leave this more for showing off pictures of fixed blades :)

Just a suggestion. I'm fine either way.
