I knew I missed a subject, our older son found this idk much on it besides it’s freaking big, that and the Mrs likes it because of the symbol is the same as the tv show “Charmed” and well the little guy likes it cause well it’s freaking huge!
JR

Yep..a seax...I have the exact same one in my collection that I bought from Kult of Athena.

So is it one or a fake? Do they put a name on the blade or something to mark it? I can care less it’s not my type of thing, mine would be something like eTrippers Ka-bar! Now that nice! :tu:

It is a "Viking Scramasax' by Hanwei made of 1065 carbon steel. The design is Celtic.

Yep that’s it, is it the real thing or a fake? Is there a way to tell?

The real thing hasn't been made since the Middle Ages.  :pok:
Anything made since then is just a homage.

It adds a bit of time to the prep but it also means more experience with the blade and how it reacts when cutting, win win really.

One of the major things I look for in a knife is how handy it will be for food prep. It is one of the reasons my current Benchmade is a thumbhole blade...the thumbstud would sometimes get in the way slicing food (ie bread etc).

One of my favorite skinners. This was made by Bob Moss of Breckenridge, Texas. Mr. Moss was selling his creations at a Trade Day in Breckenridge. This has mesquite scales. Incredibly sharp and just a joy to use. I bought this knife and grips for my 1911 (also mesquite).

Thanks, this has become one of my favorite knives. It is beautifully crafted. Mr. Moss also signed the knife on the brass bolster.

Some apple for a snack and ingredients to add to mince. The integral guard design makes it really easy to clean as nothing gets near the handle. Again just for fun.  :)
