How is it mate?  :)

I like the feel of it. The handle is made of rubber, soft, nice to grip and not sticky.
Classifications the same with other knives/blades: illegal (only if you're caught :D)
I just wish it has a synthetic leather or hard plastic pouch for edc. I'm not comfortable wearing
it inside my shoe.   :D

The RC-3 (now ESEE-3) is made in 1095 steel.

Carlos

I figured that out shortly after posting - thanks Carlos :tu:

Glad its good for you Dave.  I had nothing against it at all (sheaf aside), its just that I found myself using my Mora for everything for fear of mucking up the finish  :-[  ::)

Your (a little) less of a tart so it may now see more action :D
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

We can't EDC any sort of fixed blade unfortunately Zack, but I just wanted a good quality blade for camping and messing around in the garden and so on (that's why the "tactical" look and sheath weren't an issue for me. It'll probably be the next MT.O meet before I get to take it anywhere :D

I thought you could EDC fixed blades just not lockers (another reason I thought the law was asinine).  I had a RAT 3 made by Ontario once.  It was a very nice knife, but since the baby has been born not too much time to go camping so I sold it.

If I recall it was fixed blade that was illegal to start with, but lockers were. Then some genius lawyer came up with the argument of since it has a lock it's functionally the same as fixed blade, thus illegal too. Then the genius judge agreed, thus all lockers are illegal due to that court precedence.

In fact, we have no laws that actually mention locking blades, it's fixed blades that we are specifically forbidden to carry "without good reason".

The subsequent interpretation that a locked blade is "the same as a fixed blade" means that lockers fall into that category too nowadays  ::)

EDIT: Just as jzmtl says it !

I added some non-slip tape to my stiff K.I.S.S to well! keep it simple stupid  :D

Keeps a low profile but adds better grip than cord IMO  :salute:

Amici,
Here are two of my favorites, one is a Randall # 18 "Attack and Survival" with a 7 1/2" stainless steel blade with Vietnam war inspired pointed brass skullcrusher pommel. The other is a Jimmy Lile "Sly ll" with a 9" 440C bead blasted blade and black parachord wrapped hollow handle.

Both knives are hollow handled (no full tang) and have compasses inside of their pommels.

The Lile has never been used in the field, but the Randall was one of my companions that I carried when I was in the ARNG and it did it all although the blade being stainless steel was a little hard to keep sharp after heavy usage and had to be touched up..

My Randall advice, if you get one, get it in their carbon tool steel over the Stainless unless you plan on sharpening it often..
Cheers,
Serge

My wife bought me this hunting knife a couple of years ago,5mm thick N690 with a length of 27cm and hardwood handle, this knife is a user and it just stays razor sharp, I love this knife.
