Shipping from South Africa to Germany?

Hey,

has anyone experience with shipping knives from South Africa to Germany? Are there any restrictions etc?

I have some problems - a shop don’t want to ship to Germany...

The South African postal service has basically imploded, like many other things in that poor country.

The alternatives are couriers, and the prices are prohibitive....

A Dutch knife maker living and working in SA recently ranted in a FB group on that subject, he was quote R2300 to ship a R1900 knife to Europe.
