Yes, yes it is!  Steel is called T10 Carbon.   RR2184 iirc

I bought this last summer, an afterthought to add to my cart for FREE shipping.

Liked the quality of this RR, I would do a couple more times to get no cost s/h, so the knife selected was free or even half price.

Funny, I am currently building a cart, and this model was included. Last night I found it and realized I purchased before.  So sad, when you loose track what is in the collection

It sure looks good! :tu: Recently I got the crazy idea to collect an example of every type of Micarta RR has offered. While my tentative plan is to get a Copperhead in denim and carbon, the Classic Carbon II will be a Canoe. I awlso like the Tater Skin series.

Actually the Blue is an underliner between the scales and the brass liners. Visible at ends and top as well bottom of the knife.

The Faded Blue Jean Pattern has orange colored liner.

I think there is a RR topic thread!

But, this is a Canoe pattern topic, so I guess we could post in each.

Yet, my fancy leans toward Canoes, and RR, Queen are two alternatives creating fresh scales on this pattern besides Case and Buck.

And at reasonable costs 😜 too!

You're about ready for a family photo. Like the wood on that one.  Wood and brass are down right sexy.   8)

As requested, a gathered the bunch and took a few pictures for your review. Buck, Queen and Rough Rider, both old and new. And then found a single Case hiding amongst some Sod Busters.

Thank you JR!🌹

Yes, I do!  Buck uses a hallow grind on the blades.  IMHO, they use a sturdy blade stock, and with the HGrind, avoid the taper, yet allows for a very keen edge to be applied for maintaining sharpness while using.

Plus I like the care that appears to be exhibited on mounting the wood grain patterns onto the frames. They are centered yet no two appear identical.
The faux stag handles are varied as well.
I was fortunate to find a real Stag model as well a a Blue dyed Bone model.

This is one model I do not understand why Buck does not or ever made in the USA. 😔

Back in the day I had an all stainless steel knife, I don’t remember the name on it but I liked it, I could probably  draw it from memory, but back in the day it was my fav, it was a simple pocket clip liner lock, yet the blade was ok sharp, but one day my step father who was a master carpenter needed a knife to cut something open so I handed him y blade, later that day he asked me for it again and said it would be a while, he had like three wet stones sitting in special troughs soaking up, these things were huge, like 4 x 12, I had no clue what the heck he was going to do I was back in my teen hood back then, all I’ve ever seen him do was use these for his special chisels, needless to say about an 2 hours later he handed it back after polishing it up a little and said “careful, it’s not a toy” I was like no crap it’s a knife, so I walked off and opened it up to look at it to see just what did he do and saw nothing, so I was like whatever, but the next time I went to cut something it freaking sliced through it like freaking butter! I was like OMG, I held the knife at a distance and looked at it again and was like what the heck did he do to this thing, like WOW! I cut something else and I didn’t even need to apply pressure I was just shocked! Like I said I don’t remember what manufacture it was but that thing could do surgery!

That is a cool memory JR.

My dad was a commercial painter, and growing up met many of my dad’s friends who were also tradesman, carpenters, masons, electricians. They all bartered their skills for services. My dad would paper or paint the dentist’s kitchen or bathroom, in exchange I or my siblings would get dental work.

But, I was always fascinated by a couple of carpenters who did specialized moldings and trim work requiring carving patterns. My dad would do the staining and varnish finishing on their projects.  And I remember handling a chisel ONE time!  I ran my thumb nail along the edge, it cut through to the nail bed. He looked at me and said, “you won’t do that again, will you?”   Was always curious how he maintained them so sharp.

What a magnificent collection.  Bravo.  Thank you for taking the time to assemble them.  Neat you found the case and of all places  :D

I do love Bucks Hammer/Knife shield.  One thing for certain, RR gives everyone a chance to own a good looking affordable knife.  One that'll do what its intended to do.

Thank you Aloha!  It was my pleasure :hatsoff:

Yes, the hammer shield is my favorite as well.

It awl started with the white faux stag Buck.

I will say that the older Rough Riders I have found are very nice. The newer models Rough RYders are nice, yet a bit on the fancy side. Good modern materials for cover and stamped R bolsters make them pretty for displaying.

The QUEEN models I have are very nice, reasonably priced, well built and very usable.
The Sawcut bone and the WINTERBOTTOM bone are real bargains for new knifes.

Just MHO😔
