German-made A.G. Russell “Mohawk” Canoe.  Excellent F&F.  Guessing scales are elk antler.  Knife looks near mint, but came sans box or papers.

I have not been following this thread for a while, but there are some very nice knives being posted by all.
Well done to all and thank you for sharing your photographs.
Great thread and 2 kisses to the OP.

I saw LoopCutter's little RR Canoe and thought, I think I have one of those.  The tang stamp is different.  Anvil with Rough Rider and cutlery company stamped below anvil.  I swapped a wooden box I found at the dumpsters for it.  Always have something to trade with you when you go to the flea market.  Knife is razor sharp and fitted well.  Best wishes. Very nice Canoe pattern Gary.

I enjoy finding the Rough Rider patterns that have the Rider name over the newer styled patterns spelled RYDER.   the bone covers look very nice as well and most likely identical on each side.

Maize handle.  Corn silo.  I get it. I always preferred the CV Cases.  Sharpened up so nice.  Good looking canoe there.  Best wishes. Gary

HaHa,   I am not that smart! 😜

From my learning White barns are usually found on Diary Farms and suspect the the silo is for silage, not corn or grain.

The fatter squatting style bins for grain.

The Yellow CV canoe has been out of production or a while.  This one has 2000 code on tang and box is dated 2001.

Well, silage is corn around here.  Corn plants, corn ears, with the whole mess ground up.  The dairy next door always put the silage in pits.  You could smell the alcoholic scent of it fermenting as you drove by.  No dairies left in the county now.  A few head of beef here and there.  No dairy cows.  They raise strawberry plants in the corn fields now.  Dig them in the fall and ship them to Florida.  Change.  Best wishes. Gary

I re-read the last post I made.  Sounded a little like a rebuke.  It wasn't.  I don't do rebukes.  Good info about the Case.  Do you remember when Case didn't put circles inside the yellow handle knives shield?  Best wishes LC.  Gary

No, I have no idea, this is my 2nd ever Case Canoe, a 3rd maybe here early next week.

PS: The dairy farms I grew up near and work would store hay silage for the cows, cut the hay, allow to dry half the day, windrow it, and then gather in silage wagons, at evening while dew was settling on night air, then load into the silos.  We tried to layer each silo the same with first, second and third cuttings. Some times if Indiana summer lasted a couple weeks we gather a fourth cutting which was smaller.

The corn silage we gather, place on cement wall pits and cover with plastic and older tires holding place. Used to feed the steers and sell by dump truck loads to the hog farms.  Usually gone by December.

Yellow handles and delrin used to have a smooth emblem without a circle around the CASE.  Bone and stag got the circle around the CASE.  That changed sometime or other.
Must be a regional terminology thing.  Nobody calls hay silage here.  They just say 'hay'. Generally put up in big rolls now.  Some small farms still have square bales.  Cut it, turn it, windrow, bale or roll.  Put it in the hay shed for square bales.  Rolls are generally just stacked outside with a tractor.  Never seen hay in a silo.  Usually two cuttings.
Different ways in different places.  The pit idea is the same.  Cover it with plastic and weigh it down with tires.  No concrete here generally, just scraped out dirt.
Indiana way.  NC way.  Different, I suppose.  As long as they work.  Best wishes.  Gary

A second Canoe (yellow Delrin, CV) arrived today. Pictured on top of the first that came in Mondays post.

What is strange, the top one is stamped with 9 marks, a 2001 model. The box is printed with 01/04/01 date.

The bottom is stamped with ten marks indicating a 2000 model, yet the box is printed 03/27/01 date.

Now I have a user and Canoe Wueen🤪👍

Case most likely was using up the last of the blades produced in 2000. I have a few that are like that.

Congratulations on getting two awlsome 32131 CVs! :like:

Buck did a great job on those wood slabs to align the grain layers just right.  She's a beauty.
