That make sence! Never thought of the wallet option, don't have any money you see.

I've made some size comparison pictures of my Skeletool. But a before and after the mod picture had have been a good idea if I had made any  :-[

Oh yeah, I forgot. The first picture is the tool on a (I would think) standard business card. And yes, I know, if you want to know the size of something a tape measure would be the first thing a normal person would think of  :ahhh

I like it!

Now all I need is the guts to try it myself!  :P

Oh yeah, and a spare Skeletool.... except of course that I usually carry it by the carabiner, so I'd hate to cut it off.... but still, a very cool mod!  :D

I know of a certain site manager that might find a smaller version of the Skeletool handy at work!

So, Zepla, you keep a the philips-3/16 screwdriver in the spare bit holder? That is clever!

FWIW the driver bits included with (at least) Charges and the LM bit kit, contain some bits with different heads on each side (e.g. a phillips on one side and a flat-head on the other) that are probably better suited for such a "lean" configuration.

And that is indeed the one I keep in the bit storage holder. Works great!

I don't know if I for one would attempt this mod. Maybe if I ended up getting a CX or another Skeletool I will do it. For now though, all my parts will remain in tact ;)

The only downside of this mod (other than not having the carabiner any more) I can think of, is that you lose some of the leverage you had when using the knife, as the 'biner is part of the "handle". Do you see any of this zepla?

Not yet. I have no use for the carabiner so that is not a mis for me. About leverage, not missed it yet. I do not "heavy" cutting. Mostly rope and if a knife is sharp, that is not a problem. Perhaps when you have big hands you'll mis the carabiner part. It is not that much smaller than lets say a avarage SAK I guess.

Whoa. Now that looks pretty slick. I'm still preferring mine to have the carabiner, but I must say you've done a nice bit of modding there kodiak :salute:

Thanks guys! I wanted to try it on my non EDC first. I don't ever use the beaner....... but I just can't decide if I should do it. I think I edc the modded onr to see how I like it. I have to say I like it without the beaner.

Why if I may ask? Does the full carabiner get in the way somehow?

That's pretty cool- I like the lanyard ring and the fact that you keep the extra double ended bit!

Thanks guys. I like this mod alot, if you carry the tool in your right rear pocket with the clip I can't even tell it's there when I'm sitting down. The end hugs the outside seam of the pocket perfectly with out the clip thier.

I never use the beaner so this mod is great for me. I like the way it feels in the hand when I'm useing the knife also. I carry a Leatherman e33T also which has a beaner in case I run into a bottle of beer that want's to fight! :twak:

That's cool. I thought about doing that when I first got my Skeletool, but I decided to keep it after I had to clip it to my lifejacket one time. It looks totally cool without the clip. Probably more confortable too. I just really like the ability to clip it to stuff sometimes.

If I had another one I'd do it :D
