noooooo!!! that is a surefire way to lose it
But what if someone at the disco needs some string cutting or a new walking/dancing stick whittled?

that is a reasonable argument but bouncers tend to be the grabby lot with cool gear
Ah, but what if it's the bouncer who needs some string cutting or a walking/dancing stick whittling? Then she'll be quids in!

You can't whittle a dancing pole because of splinters.

true. and you'd probably ruin the edge with scraping since it has to be smooth

Thats why you hone the spine to a sharp 90 so you can scrape with it instead of the edge.

I've got a Magnum Fox River with bolster in A2 and antique ivory micarta that I adore but cannot bring myself to use and abuse yet. I just haven't made my peace with sullying its beauty as yet.

But it's so hard to mess up such a gorgeous knife when I've got Moras and Ontarios and ESEEs...

I didn't even pay for the knife- i won it in a giveaway on another forum- and i still can't bring myself to mess it up just yet...

They look better the more you use em! Plus you can always send it back for a spa treatment.

I'm in today with a Micro-Canadian. I pocket carry this one. A super-useful little knife, who needs a OHO?

Nice one! I've had a few of those micros past through my hands over the years.  Handy little buggers.

Missed this the first time.  By mess up do you mean damage?  If by mess up you mean the knife showing wear then like Clown says, send it in for a spa treatment.  I believe BRK has a really good warranty if you meant damage.

Nah, I'm not worried about damage. It's the scratches, dings, scrapes, and patina that I was talking about. The knife is so pretty I'm having a hard time putting that first scratch in.

If you've got a parter then let them have the honors.  Maybe start in the kitchen with food prep.  If found patina easily polishes out but scratches on the other hand.......  I hear you tho, I used to have a really hard time with the first use marks.  Now those marks are part of my story with the knife, especially the knives and tools I plan on keeping and passing on to my kids.

If it makes it any easier,  you are going to love using yours.   :pok:
