I finally bought myself a Grohmann folder...something I've wanted for a long time. The paper-mache 110 is a recent acquisition as well.

ah, very nice indeed, two knives I also have been admiring for quite some time.  How is that
Grohmann?

Dare I say that the Grohmann looks better as I folder than as a fixed blade?  Any chance of a pic of it closed?  Cheers mate.

A little expensive but locks up solidly and nicely finished. Very much like a classic brass bolstered Buck 110 in heft. The handle is actually larger overall in comparison to a No.1, although the blades are close in size. An oiled leather belt sheath is included, basic design but fairly well made.

An interesting detail I never knew of...the lanyard staple can be slid into the handle when not in use.

I wouldn't mind a smaller version. Like the 110, it is designed as a stand-alone knife rather than a companion piece to their straight blades.

From today:
CRKT Drifter, screams SRM to me, good finish, described as having premium steel, bought for less than SRM money, looks sexy. New but has advertising on it

It is made by SRM.

I was pretty sure about that, but could not find the equivalent SRM model on Exduct, so I did not say it was an SRM 100%. The steel, on the CRKT site is given as 8Cr14MoV, though the leaflet that came with the knife called it just "premium steel".
It does feel a "click" better in quality than the SRM knives I have (which are fine), possibly because of what was requested by CRKT.

Gareth, these are designed to be given as advertising gifts, according to the CRKT site:
http://www.crkt.com/Drifter

Well done to the companies that give these as a Gift!

The model is the 707.  The specifications are different by about .5mm in a few places (blade length, overall length), but the pivot is the same, the screws are the same, the thumbstud is the same, the jimping is the same, the liners are the same etc.  My best guess is that the Drifter is a CRKT design, but SanRenMu modified it slightly to sell it for the Chinese market to differentiate it slightly.

The differences would likely be slightly better (and harder) steel on the Drifter, as well as the warranty.  Lifetime from CRKT compared to 3 months from SanRenMu is a pretty big difference.

Here are a few pics of it I made some time back when I first got the 707. Great knife. Don't like the re-curve that much though.

As much as I like Leathermans.  The Drifter is definately on my short list!! :2tu:

The long awaited Spyderco manix with FRCP handle is finally out.

I like the new blade finish, sort of smooth stone wash. The handle though feels more like hard plastic than FRN, not sure if I like that. Given the relative "non-premium" material used and still comparably high price point, I may not get it if I were to choose again.

It's friggin light though compare to the original brick, and I love that.

I like it, and the clear one as well when it finally arrives.  I wonder though how it's going
to fair when the pivot is lubed with oil and stuff gets inside it how will it look?
