Based on what i can tell there is no way this even close to a 70s tool, more like late 80s early 90s. Im no expert however. What do you guys think is going on here? (sorry if this thread is in the wrong spot.)

BS. The earliest PSTs came out in 1983. I bought my first one in ‘84 at Cutlery World and I was a year late to the party.

That is one that of the top-secret 1970s PSTs developed for the CIA. Civilians only had access to them after the Russians discovered the plot to dismantle their nuclear weapons with just a Leatherman in 1982. Official launch date was 1983. It's a huge cover-up nobody talks about. ;)

As others have said, no way is this from the '70's.

Maybe "later 80's" to early 90's ?

If anyone wants some fun, ask the seller if it has any marking stamped inside the handles.  If it does, they are date codes and will be 1192 (Nov 92) at the earliest.

I second this.

I have one like it, not marked at all in one side. It's a mid to late eighties to very early nineties.
