Celebrating six months on MTo...by rambling
on: March 08, 2022, 05:11:44 AM
On 6 September 2021, I joined this awlsome board. Lots has changed since then...

My interest in multis is starting to drift. At the time I joined, it was primarily (if not exclusively) rooted in SAKs. Now I'm becoming more interested in Leatherman tools, as two members in particular can attest to. Whether this change is due to me coming to appreciate those full-size pliers or the novelty factor (to me, anyway), I don't know. I do know that I probably won't be buying SAKs at the breakneck pace I was last year, but those that I do have are likely not going anywhere.

The 30-day challenges and merit badges are, in my opinion, a terrific aspect if this board. Even if I don't have any new tools to show off or wisdom to impart, I still have a way to participate in the goings-on of the board. The challenges in particular have forced me to get a little creative at times. It sure is a lot of fun! I hope to participate in a Leatherman challenge soon.

Finally, the membership makes the board great, as well. (Awlmost) everything stays civil and calm, and those rare lapses have blown over pretty quickly. Interacting with all sorts of cool folks from all over the globe has been a real blast. Thanks to awl who make this board such a great place to spend time!

Finally, I'm giving some serious thought to a new username; one that doesn't imply preference for a specific make or model of multi.

I think Farmer X is a great name, but if a different name would fit the new you then go for it.

Y'awl just reaffirmed how great this board is. Mordor is not in the cards; I'll be in Michigan for the foreseeable future, and at MTo as long as I have a breath in me!
