Hey Knights

Spotted this 'error' on this Safari Trooper page.

Can anyone spot it?

Clues:
  • It's an inconsistency
  • A Wiki editor cannot fix the error directly

Hmm ....... On second thoughts I am not sure what I am letting myself in for here .........  There could be a flood of 'errors':   typos, dates, tools etc etc

One thing I noted was the text states the scales are nylon while the photo states the Safari Trooper has Cellidor scales. I believe the text is correct as I have a 108mm GAK, and from what I know about the entire 108mm Safari line, the only difference between the GAK and Safari scales is their color and the German Adler versus the Victorinox cross.

Wow that was quick - Very good guys - I should have known the Knights would cruise this challenge.
I should not have given any clues  ;)

Yes interesting - Presumably the photo is from a Vic catalogue ???
And yes John - I believe you are right - All 108mms have Nylon scales - So a Vic catalogue is in error  .... Shock horror ....  :o
Mind you would not be the first time  ::twak:

Possible I guess it could have come from some other vendor/dealer catalogue
I guess we should put a note in the page about the error ....

I thought about that and zoomed in on the text to see if that was the case and concluded no - Very good photoshop effort - How come the fonts worked etc etc

I saved the pic from the wiki page as a jpeg, then covered over the incorrect text with a square and sampled the background colour to fill it with the right colour, then put text over it. On inspection of the code for the wiki page it looked like the font was helvetica so found one as close as the program had to match it. Sadly it didn't have helvetica so its as close as I could get.

And there was me thinking you had found a newer updated version of the original catalogue.

I wouldn't put it past the members of this forum - As it's amazing what artifacts we have stored away !!

Must admit I am leaning towards removing the fake and leaving the original real image with the comment about the mistake !!!
