Victorinox printing ink removal
on: April 10, 2018, 04:06:19 PM
Yes, yes, I know this is a thing a lot can be found on online.
But I'm specifically interested in removing ink from nylon scales.
As these are made out of a matte material it's not possible to polish the print off.

So I wonder if any of you know a way to remove the (screen)print from matte nylon scales.

Or perhaps someone knows what type of ink Victorinox uses.

I'm looking for a chemical way to remove the print so I don't damage the matte finish of the scales.

I've just been doing some research and my guess is that it's a UV cured screen printing ink.
didn't have any luck on finding a way to remove it though.

I polished it by hand.

Even though it's slightly visible under the right light and angle, it's way less visible then the ad was.
