So, the last couple of weeks I have been getting random redirect ads while surfing this site on mobile.
Not to be confused with the standard google ads used to generate income here. I keep those enabled.
A redirect ad randomly sends you to a spoof or phishing website without tapping/clicking anything. Usually the easiest way to know the redirects are malicious is that you cannot "backup" or return easily. They close the previously viewed site. It just keeps reloading the fake site. I get them the most when I look at the "unread" list. Large threads with lots of photos redirect multiple times usually.
I have ran several adware/malware scans(with multiple software) and switched browsers a few times and still get the same thing on completely different browsers.
I am wondering if my phone and tablet OSs are compromised or if the google ads here have unknown (possibly malicious) embedded javascript redirects in them(this would not be known to the forum admins). Only reason I am asking is that the ads started around the same time there were a ton of spam accounts popping up on MT.o with spam threads being posted one after another.
If nobody else has experienced these, then I will just have to do factory resets on my phone and tablet.
Thanks for reading. Any input is appreciated.
