so i have decided to replace my 7 year old, strong running, EDC orig wave for a black oxide wave. i was wondering what some of you have done with retired EDC's wether it be left in the truck.....or car ("buhh" in hank hill voice) tackle box, range bag, etc.? or maybe some of you die hards carry multiple multitools on you belt. just thought i'd ask and see if any of you gave them an out of the ordinary home

If I were you, I would send it in to Leatherman for a tune up and keep it in the drawer.

When I retire multitools and knives I put them in a black footlocker I bought this summer. Also in there is my first full size Maglite some brass zippos and other odds and ends I don't want to lose but have no use for.

I have a piece of land in the farm where your old BO Wave can run around and spend the rest of his life in comfort and peace just send your retired Bo wave to me I won't charge you anything
Seriously just keep it on your drawer, believe me you can not have enough multitool around the house.

I retire my tools as soon as they start looking worn.

I don't retire tools so much as leave it in my big box o' tools until I get tired of whatever else I'm carrying, then I go right back into the box to reuse the old ones.
EDIT: I am also attempting to trade/giveaway tools that I don't like or want anymore.
Got those frog legs.

Sometimes they are too poorly to use but too cool to lose...

no such thing as too poorly... that's just an excuse to buy a new one for a fancier toothpick
