Had a Heart attack

Well after years of joking around about being a Heart attack waiting to happen it finally did. Day after halloween I felt a discomfort all day and decided to go to bed early. About 2 am I woke up to  a screaming pain in my chest and being the moron I am. I decided  to take myself to the hospital. I did not wake the wife, and forgot to take the phone with me. The whole time I drove there the pain just kept gettign worse. I finally pulled into the parking lot and got out of the car. That was the last thing I remembered for about 2 days. I was found about 20 feet from the car on the ground by staff and was brought in the er on a gurney from one of the ambulances there. They had no I dea how to contact family due to having just cell phones no home phone, so police had to be sent to my home to get my wife and kiddo.

So I now have 2 stints (80% and 98% blockages) and just got home today. I had developed an infection then pnemonia in one lung. I really cant explain how weak I am and now get winded walking to the bathroom. But wait that aint all.... The little one now refuses to leave me alone   you see she had real abandonment issues when We got her and this really kind of put her over the edge. So that is why I am posting this. I am not a real religous guy but I really would like some positive thoughts going her way. This kinda freeked her big time so I am hoping that this will kind of help her out.


So I havnt had a butt in 3 weeks and no booze. Plus they have me eating healthy I now cant have anything that is good in life. So guys just be careful and send some positive thoughts out. Now I am going to bed.

i know what im talkin about as ive been taken to hospital once for "almost " stroke in heart,and after that it was painful recovery and 3 months sick-vacation.

I very glad you're still with us.  Most importantly, DO WHAT THE DOCS TELL YOU!  I lost a friend earlier this year to a bad heart and I don't want to hear about another.  

I'm guessing by your post that your wee one is adopted, if so then I know where you're coming from.  My Daughter is also adopted and it more than upsets her if one of us has to go away for the weekend.  I can't imagine what she would think if one of us ended up in Hospital.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Glad you made it through the first one alive and on the way to full recovery. I lost my dad (he was 48, will be 10 years in febuary) to a heart attack, and now that you go through your first there are plenty of steps that you can take to get you stronger than you were before. It looks like it made your close family even closer. Good luck to you buddy.

Glad you made it through ok.  I lost my dad at 48 13 years ago October.  Now at 23 I am making sure the same thing doesn't happen to me.  I lost about 25 lbs since May, and lowered my cholestorol about 8 points.  My dad had his first when he was 36, and with a kid on the way I don't want his to suffer as I did.

John it is wonderful news that you are on the road to recovery mate. I think you are possibly the luckiest man alive , that you passed out & some one found you AND you are still alive . Tell your little one that a higher being has your back mate as most people would not have made it to the ER. You must be as tuff as a Leatherman buddy  . Speaking from experience the majority of patients in the Coronary Care Units  either smoke , have Diabetes or both.So if you keep away from the smokes & look after yourself it would be great. When things are tough and you feel like crap just think buddy you & your family have a second chance , that my friend is a awesome early Christmas prezzy , possibly the best mate.My thoughts & best wishes to you , your wife & your little one.
