Yes it is.  I've been wanting one for years, and it doesn't disappoint!

I've found that if you don't mind having a knife with screening on the blade like this one has and you're patient you can get them for a good price on ebay.

I've said the same thing in the past about a few Case patterns and I frequently carry patterns in CV. Recently though I've come to realize that there is little difference in performance between Case CV and SS.  I still prefer CV but I no longer let it bother me to the point where I won't buy patterns that are only offered in SS.  I now have a few patterns in SS that I carry and I really like them.

It does seem like they should always offer CV in whittler patterns though, since it is one function of a pocketknife that most requires a very sharp, long-lasting edge.

I have some stainless case’s that I enjoy too, and the steel is comparable, but the CV is still better. Also, stainless blades don’t speak to me the way carbon ones do. I guess you could call that personal preference.

That is my personal preference as well.  It's not only more traditional, but it seems like more of a "living" thing with a constantly changing patina.  It's just that there are a few patterns that I like well enough that they trump my desire to have CV.  The Seahorse is one of those.

I guess I am at the point where I won’t buy a knife I wish I could because it is not cv. The two I really want are the small stockman and seahorse.
