If I missed this somewhere, let me apologize in advance.
Are there any alternatives to using paypal for making a forum donation?
(Paypal is so yesterday.

If only I had a decent tool to send...
Hehehe, but in any case, the transfer fees are horrendous via that method.

You can send cash too!
Just don't mark the envelope as so...

Paypal is so yesterday?
I must have missed that while I was being so two thousand and late.... teen....
What other method(s) would you prefer? Seeing as how I am so old and out of touch, I am not aware of what newer, sexier payment methods you kids are using nowadays, you'll have to let me know what you like and I'll see if I can accommodate it. I suppose we could try accepting Pogs or Beanie Babies or Pokemons, but I'm not sure what the currency conversion for those is....

Was thinking of plastic cards, IBAN numbers, that sort of thing.
But I’m fine with using PayPal for here.

I can provide an IBAN number for anyone that really wants to go that route, and Paypal accepts credit cards. I can set up an additional vendor account to accept credit cards without involving Paypal, but that costs more money than I really want to deal with for the fractional amount it is likely to bring in.

Ok, I see.
I’m fine with PayPal, I was just wondering about any alternatives.
I think the kids call it future-proofing.

No problem. I would love to make things easier, but Paypal seems to be the most universally accepted method. When/if something better comes along, I'll do my best to be all over it.

Credit cards are very expensive to accept, especially when you're a small player.
IBAN with direct bank transfer works best within the EU/EEA, and sender and recipient need to split the fees to minimize cost.
SWIFT is, again, expensive,
Crypto currencies aren't widely adopted and have other problems as well.
The nice thing about payment systems is future proofing is going the wrong way about. If all you want or need is transferring funds efficiently, Fear Of Missing Out is irrelevant. By definition you can jump on whatever solution becomes widely adopted when it becomes widely adopted since it has to be easy to adopt. Yes, that's intentionally circular.
