Why is it curved like that? Every marlin spike I have ever seen has been straight. Granted I know next to nothing about marlin spikes or what they are used for, so seeing something new isn't shocking, but it does make me curious.

Quote from: Etherealicer on May 31, 2018, 11:46:11 AMSince they never brought the CT carbon into production, I'm trying to contain my excitement. Especially, since that is only a photoshop image (see red circles, and the pivot region of the spike looks odd too). Anyway, what do you reckon is in the green circle? Photoshop error? Something new?On the up side, it looks like its going to have 2 eyelets .The green circle looks like the normal liner lock to me.

Goat, when bearing down on a hard knot or trying to separate a braid with a marlin spike, you may be directing force towards the hand holding the rope. With a straight spike you are more likely to stab your hand if you slip, while a curved spike is more likely to miss your hand as it will swoop or dip when you slip rather than go directly forward.
Aren't those "eyelets' too small for any kind of rope a nautical person might use?
LOL. That's not a proper marlin spike.
Which is a re-purposed sacking needle which is not a proper marlin-spike either. The sharp edge in the inside is really A Bad Thing in ropework, IMHO.
I want one of those aloxes badly though!Even if I don't work with ropes...

Quote from: Etherealicer on June 12, 2018, 04:18:23 PMLast I checked they were still for sale at the factory store, I can check for you, next time if I'm there. This is my first post on here, so please disregard if this is in considered poor form or blatantly against the rules for this forum. I frequent Bladeforums and I have been trying to track down a particular Wenger (Professional 4 layer) for over 5 years now with no luck. Due to this, I am just going to make it... tThe model you show above and are referencing in the quote I tagged has it all except the awl... A pic of the professional is posted below. If you could be so kind to shoot me an email with any pertinent information regarding the pictured knife, I would be greatly appreciative. As thanks, I will do a walk through on the modification and rebuild, for those interested in working on SAKs.Thank you in advance.
welcome! is a great forum even if you are not a fanatic of all multitools and pocket knivesI saw you on BF talking about this Wenger for years in many different threads (like "I wish Victorinox made... ") and always wished that you found it and I even wanted to encourage you to join this place to search for it or have it made We have very good searchers and capable makers here, this is your best bet Good luck and welcome again!!
Two pics from Victorinox latest military brochure.

Nah, its the one I posted above, 3-layers alox.I have to remind you that I could be off about the price. I know they are not expensive, but its been a while since I bought them. I also have no idea if they still have some.
