Many of you won't know or remember Johnny, but he was a great member here for a very long time in the early days- and once an MTO member, always an MTO member!

I had the joy of meeting Johnny in 2008 when he was working at Gatorland in Florida, and he was great enough to give myself and Mikey (another great member who has been missing for far too long!) a fantastic back stage tour of the facility!  We got to sit in a pen with a 1,000 lb plus wild caught dog eater, we got to handle baby gators not even a foot long, and we also got to handle tarantulas, scorpions and a giant snake that took 8 of us to hold!

Shortly after that day Johnny was hurt on the job and left Gatorland, and we were all heartbroken with him, because we couldn't picture Johnny anywhere else but there- after all, he met his wife there, AND married her in a gator pit there too!

Today I see on Facebook that he has announced that he is BACK at Gatorland, after nine years away, and I couldn't be happier for him.  If you are ever in the area, find Johnny- it won't be hard, he'll be one of the guys driving the giant swamp buggies, giving tours!  Tell him who you are and how much we all miss him and I am sure you will like the guy as much as I do!  He's just one of those really nice guys that you instantly like the minute you meet him!

So, I would appreciate it if you would all take a moment to congratulate Johnny on the new job, and let him know that we haven't forgotten him- and a special occasion for any of us is a reason to celebrate for ALL of us!   :tu:

Wasn't he working in retail...TVs or something like that after his gator job?

He's done a number of things but most recently he has been driving a swamp buggy for someone else, and now he's doing it where he belongs.

I don't recall retail but it's very possible!

For those of you wondering who he was, if you have ever seen the names Navajero, The Doggy Guru or Latino Heat, they are all him.  And I have shamelessly stolen a couple of pics from FB to show you all just how cool Johnny is.  The yellow one is the one he has been driving for a few years now, and the green one is his new ride at Gatorland.

Imagine being paid to drive a monster like that through the swamp every day and make jokes about prehistoric killing machines for the amusement of a group of terrified people!
