Camillus ASEK Sheath Advice
on: November 23, 2024, 01:59:52 AM
A week or two ago my dad went knife shopping. He was hunting around for an ASEK like the one he had in the Navy and struck out, so I hopped on ebay. Found this Camillus in good shape (a little later vintage and Camillus instead of his Ontario, but I think close enough that he'll appreciate it). The only problem is that it didn't come with a sheath. I'd like to add one to it, and figured I'd come here for some advice. I don't think he's likely to carry it too often, so maybe something more on the storage/showy side than the practical/carry angle would probably be appropriate. The originals I'm seeing look like they're mostly green nylon w/ buckles, etc. for attachment, but I'm open to less authentic options.

The sheath at knife center that Steve linked to would be correct. You might save a few cents on ebay.  Look up Ontario type 499 sheath. I found it at 22.45 including shipping and you might find it cheaper, I just didn't look too far into the listings.
