Knifeless MT’s available options
on: July 27, 2018, 01:31:15 PM
Due to local laws and questionable government logic, I am leaning more and more towards getting a MT without a knife in it.

In what I do, I would be fine just having my utility knife and carrying that separately from my MT, so it won’t be a disaster for me not to have a knife in my MT.

I have a Charge TTI and an OHT, but I don’t want to take them apart and remove the knives from them. The charge has too much of a sentimental value to me and the knife in my OHT is engraved.

But anyway; the options I can find are:
- Leatherman knifeless Rebar
- Leatherman Style
- Gerber blameless MP600

Are there any other good options out there?

What are people’s experiences with any of the above and their knifeless compromises?

Please share your thoughts, opinions and experiences.

Main reason for making this thread is I want to make sure that it’s a feasible 80€ option / solution to get a knifeless MT, as I am not able to carry a toolbox with me everywhere I go.

if you can go small (which I guess not, based on your current tools) the Dime Travel is an option.

Otherwise, almost any SOG can be easily modded to put the blade out, as do many Gerbers,  :salute:
you also have  LM Knifeless FUse, not that easy to find , or any of the old LMs (Blast, Kick, Core, Fuse) are extremely easy to dissasemble and pullt he blade out.  :tu:

I also have a bladeless mod for my SOG Powerlock, Kershaw A100, LM Fuse (self-made knifeless),   :multi:

finally as a last option you can take any tool and snap the blade off, some will be very easy to do, and grind the remaining but to close into the handle and not be dangerous or awkward

$80 gives you lots of options  ;)
My toys:

MTs: Surge (2x), Skeletool CX, Rebar, Blast, Fuse, Micra, Squirt (3x), Wave, Crunch, Mini, Spirit (2x), Pro Scout, MP700 (2x), Diesel, Powerlock, PowerPlier (2x), PocketPowerPlier, Blacktip , ST6 (2x), 5WR, A100

SAKs: Bantam, Executive, Ambassador, Minichamp, Classic Alox, Champion, Farmer, Explorer, Swisschamp, Golf Tool, Wenger Champ, EVO 52, Pocket Tool Chest

The Gerbers (400 and 600) are easily modded  - I have 3 '400's, all bladeless for UK carry. 2 of them have scissors, woodsaw and metal file (replacing blade and can opener) and one with file and scissors plus can opener. Really easy to do plus you get a great phillips that will fit a 1/4" adaptor, great scissors in the Gerber, and cheap if you buy 2nd hand.  :tu:

I might end up getting the MT I want / need and just remove the knife from it
