Has anyone used SOG parts in Leathermans?

Just wondering since you can buy these tools directly from SOG, rather than having to scavenge parts from other tools.

How much modification is needed to, say, put a SOG awl in a Wave?

I would not bother with SOG tools
Their Q/C is bad and of low quality

But I do like the 1/4” driver like on the SOG PAD  :tu:
I am not talking about the pliers as they are good  :D

Put a SOG saw in a PST with no adjustment to pivot or tang, but did have to take a thin layer off the whole top of the saw so that it didn’t sit too high. I suspect PST and Wave pivots are different, as I haven’t seen a flurry of mods here swapping tools between the two (in which case, Wave and SOG pivots would be different too)

Just a little tip, the PAD tools are not nearly as well made as the regular PL, PA, PPP, and ParaTool implements. Not the best, but quite good. The awl in the PL is quite different than the awl in the PAD. :ahhh
If SOG has used the PL tools in the PAD, the outcome would have been awesome. :)

Precisely.  The implements in a powelock or paratool are actually quite good.

I've done the opposite, I've put a LM Fuse Phillips screwdriver, flat screwdriver, can opener, and Wave scissors all into a SOG Powerlock with minimal grinding and filing, very easy and quick to do,  :salute:

so that's all the input I can give you  :P
My toys:

MTs: Surge (2x), Skeletool CX, Rebar, Blast, Fuse, Micra, Squirt (3x), Wave, Crunch, Mini, Spirit (2x), Pro Scout, MP700 (2x), Diesel, Powerlock, PowerPlier (2x), PocketPowerPlier, Blacktip , ST6 (2x), 5WR, A100

SAKs: Bantam, Executive, Ambassador, Minichamp, Classic Alox, Champion, Farmer, Explorer, Swisschamp, Golf Tool, Wenger Champ, EVO 52, Pocket Tool Chest

True. I may have misrepresented the classic SOG implements. They are very functional and of reasonable quality. Comparable to older(pre-1999) LM implements. The PAD, really hurt people's perception of SOG, as a tool maker.

I found it... I was sure I had seen a pic with the SOG rescue hook-knife thing in a Leatherman.

Have a look at this post - contact Obi1shinobee for more details on what needs to be done.

I added the hook and bit holder to a Kick many years ago
Didn't need much work to do it

Everything’s adjustable

Bit necroong this thread but how much modding needed to fit SOG parts to LM, i know that Wire Strippers can be modded to Rebar/ST300 but how about other models. But i have no idea how much and what mods parts need to fit leathermans.

I added a saw blade to a PST: write-up here: https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,48498.msg802625.html#msg802625

It needed a bit of sanding top and bottom to fit in the handles, but that was it. Pivot size is the same.

Awesome mod. so basicly if i correctly looked it may not require even less modding to fit SOG tools to Wave (inside tools) SOG wirestripper may not be easy fit or maybe not even possible to add it to Wave as outside tool.
I have added microbit driver to PST2 but only problem is that it lacks material on locknotch side to aling with other tools when opened (it overbends) but it looks that SOG tools might be bit same as Wave tools on locknotch side.
I may need to test that theory if nobody hasnt tried it allready.
That SOG bottle opener/flathead is same style as SAKs have and it looks thick but dont know does it it make strong, if it is, it could be used as real prybar on Wave. Also i looked that 1/4” driver, Saw and V-Cutter.
Also considered some of those for my Gerber MP600 and CenterDrive but locking mechanism seens to be bit diffrent but still doable if tools have enough material what need to be removed, mostly i looked adding saw to MP600/CD cause those lacks real saw (u-lock saws are hard to find here and i rather have solid saw)
