Can the Pocket Plier cut hard wires?
on: November 28, 2008, 09:46:21 PM
I noticed that my LM Wave has a Hard wire notch to cut hard wires, can the Pocket PLier cut hard wire without getting messed up? Thats the only reason why I dont use it that much.

Should not be a problem, don't use it on anything like nails but copper and braided are ok. Maybe even some slightly thicker gauge. With the anvil style (is this correct?) and Compound Leverage the pliers can certainly do it. Never OVER stress you pliers, one of my Powerlocks shows some dings in the cutters from trying to cut something to strong for them, they succeeded but are somewhat dinged. Good rule of thumb, if you think it's too much for your pliers then it probably is!  :D

Since it is anvil style I would just put it to the rear of the cutting edge as possible that way if it does kink it it will make its own little hard wire notch

And easy to get rid of with a dremell tool.
