Identifying PowerLock
on: November 28, 2008, 09:53:25 PM
I just picked this used but new looking Powerlock up today and can't find which model it is.  Maybe somebody took some of the tools off and put them on another knife ???

Here is a photo so hopefully somebody with more knowledge can help me figure out what I have.

Not sure what model it was originally. But I noticed you got the old file.

The saw is also of the newer design. The original blade is swapped out with a plain and serrated blade. The ¼” drive is gone, no scissor, no V-cutter and no C-4 spike. As far as I know the tool layout is not from SOG. But what is the old file doing there??

It came from a pawn shop. So I don't know too much about it other than it was pretty cheap.

Well it is a really cool piece! I like it when people take a tool and mod it to what they want.

I'm guessing before it was pawned, it was customized by the previous owner.

Seems like a fine array of tools though.  :)

So are you thinking about changing it?

I think that I'll probably keep it the way it is.

Good decision. You will find out now if it works for you. Good thing about SOG if it dont the components are wicked cheap.

I wouldn't say wicked cheap. I placed an order awhile and I wanted to buy a few components.. A few minutes later my total was $75 bucks! But, I got a ton of components, two nice sheaths, and a few other things..

It's good to know that I can make it like it was if I decide.  I probably don't need the scissors and the other two things it looks like it probably came with.  There are 3 empty bushings on it.
